El Naschie wins law suit against Nature!

From the article by Nature news reporter Natasha Gilbert:

Dr. Mohamed El Naschie, an Egyptian engineer and physicist, has been awarded ten million pounds in damages against Nature by Lord Chief Justice William Murray of the High Court in London. According to the article "Self-publishing editor set to retire" by Quirin Schiermeier, which appeared in Nature last year, a German physics professor emeritus, Dr. Walter Greiner of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt told Schiermeier that El Naschie was "not a distinguished fellow". El Naschie brought suit because of that false and prima facie defamatory report by Schiermeier. Alan Marco, QC, of the law firm Collyer Bristow, representing El Naschie, had this to say:

"It was lies, all lies. There were hundreds of people there when Professor El Naschie was made a fellow, including Nobel Laureates. Ahmed Zewail stole my client's idea and the Weitzman Institute gave Zewail the Nobel. Professor El Naschie is an Arab, a Muslim, and holds an Egyptian passport, so the Nobel lost its way. Renate Loll contacted John Baez who hired Schiermeier to do a hit job. Jason is filth. We heard it was all organized by the Mossad. We are gratified by Lord Chief Justice William Murray's very fair decision, but really we don't care about the money at all. What is important is that Nature has been taught a lesson that scientists must be respected, and Dr. El Nachie's international reputation as a paradigm-shifting distinguished fellow has been upheld. Look, here is a picture of him at the beach with three Nobel Laureates."

Nature does not intend to appeal.
