El Naschie's Arabic Wikipedia entry vandalized III

(Part I is here. Part II is here. Part IV is here.)
An award-winning Wikipedian named Riad, not content to deface El Naschie's Arabic Wikipedia page, has gone so far as to delete the entire discussion page. Earlier I had edited the discussion page, in English, asking that the defacement of El Naschie's page be reverted, and giving a link to El Naschie Watch.

Our graphic is a collage of iconography from Riad's user page. Apparently he's an Algerian living in Germany. Our picture of the back of his head and bad sweater comes from his photo of himself at a German SDP meeting in Premnitz.

There is no English language Wikipedia page for El Naschie.

UPDATE: There is an ongoing real-time battle with me editing the discussion page and El Naschie main page and "Scorpion300" and "Riadismet" undoing my work. It's outrageous that they feel free to delete even discussion pages. Totally against the Wiki spirit. Readers may remember Scorpion300 from Two men. Only one can be champion.

Scorpion300 is making so little effort to hide his identity that I may as well just tell you:

Yes. That Amr Elnashai.

  1. The restoration of the link from the El Naschie page to El Naschie Watch has been approved by an administrator. Hooray!

  2. That means Amr Elnashie is a fraud or at least is a dishonest one. One with a supposed reputable academic position can't defend about a fraud even if he is his own brother. Not only that, but wrote and article celebrating his sixty's birthday describing him as a man of great achievements in physics and mathematical physics, which only means that Amr El naschie himself doesn't know physics nor mathematics.

I think one should follow the case of Amr El naschie, it is supposed he is working in USA, I think there will be a lot of surprises awaiting for us.

My feeling is that, all the three brothers are fraud triple. I mean The great man (El naschie), Amr and Said both of the three are frauds.

  3. I did some investigation of Amr a while ago. Like Mohamed, Amr founded a journal, Journal of Earthquake Engineering, and that struck me as suspicious. It's a terribly rated journal, among the worst in its field, which is reassuring in a way, because he's not gaming the rating system like Mohamed and Ji-Huan He. He publishes dull but sensible-looking papers in a variety of journals, not just his own. Of his 146 papers, 36 were in his own journal. A bit too many maybe? But not like Mohamed and Ji-Huan.

  4. Still, I agree in one point, that is Amr Elnashai should get the attention he deserves in terms of him being probably responsible for setting up the Said El Naschie blog and pulling Jihan Fadel into it. Plus vandalizing and forming sockpuppet armies writing racial hatred and misogynistic comments. His students, colleagues and scientific/business contacts should know what Amr is doing at his desk when feeling unobserved. Amr is the main "character assassin", trying over and over again to throw dirt everywhere, distributing lies, hate and prejudice and seeding names of real people whereever he can. His efforts should be honoured with his photo and a selection of his achievements to bring him up in google.

  5. Yes, he is he one who always directs people to http://thecaseofsaidelnashaie.blogspot.com/ and http://saidelnashaie.blogspot.com/ and picks on Jihan Fadel for no reason. He does anti-Western and anti-Jewish scapegoating. He once was furious at me for presuming to suggest what is and isn't good for Arab science. I'm not an Arab and so I can't have an opinion apparently. I once asked him whether he agreed with Mohamed that Israel is to blame for El Naschie's lack of a Nobel, and he said it doesn't matter if Mohamed's right, why can't he brag a bit, it's none of my business, etc. He's pretty creepy. I tried to avoid going after him for a long time because I understand wanting to protect your brother.

  6. The case of Amr Elnashai should be investigated, more light should be focoused on that man.

According to ISI web of Knowledge, Amr Elnashai has 75 documents
    54 articles
    14 proceeding papers
    6 EDITORIAL MATERIAL
    1 BIOGRAPHICAL-ITEM

22 articles in his own journal (JOURNAL OF EARTHQUAKE ENGINEERING)
    14 articles in ENGINEERING STRUCTURES

It is intersting that he has two articles in CHAOS SOLITONS & FRACTALS and one in INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF NONLINEAR SCIENCES AND NUMERICAL SIMULATION

Title: New light on an ancient illumination: the Pharos of Alexandria
Author(s): Elnashai AS, Di Sarno L, Carter MD
Source: INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF NONLINEAR SCIENCES AND NUMERICAL SIMULATION Volume:7 Issue: 2 Pages: 137-148 Published: 2006

    Title: Recollections
    Author(s): Elnashai A
Source: CHAOS SOLITONS & FRACTALS Volume:25 Issue: 4 Pages: 767-768 Published: AUG 2005

Title: A very brief history of earthquake engineering with emphasis on developments in and from the British Isles
    Author(s): Elnashai AS
Source: CHAOS SOLITONS & FRACTALS Volume:13 Issue: 5 Pages: 967-972 Published: APR 2002

  7. I used Google Scholar. I'll have to look at the results more carefully to reconcile with the Web of Knowledge numbers.

By the way, as I mentioned a while ago, the old CSF included earthquake engineering within its subjects presumably as a gesture to Amr. Earthquake engineering is gone now.

  8. It is interesting to look at web page of Amr El nashai
    http://aelnash.cee.illinois.edu/journal.htm
    http://aelnash.cee.illinois.edu/conferences.htm

The first paper of Amr authored with the great man, which is
Influence of loading behavior on the post buckling of circular rings
El Naschie, M.S. and Elnashai, A.S.
American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Journal, Vol. 14, No. 2, pp. 266-267, 1976.
Another conference paper with the great man
    On stability of spherical shells
El Naschie, M.S and Elnashai, A.S.
Canadian Congress of Applied Mechanics, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, pp. 449-450, 1977.

Really, it was a good magic starting point.
Also you will find that Amr didn't list the paper at which he praised his brother as a great physicist of his own time, there is a big why question. The missed paper is
    Title: Recollections
    Author(s): Elnashai A
Source: CHAOS SOLITONS & FRACTALS Volume:25 Issue: 4 Pages: 767-768 Published: AUG 2005

There is interesting book authored by Amr, which is (http://aelnash.cee.illinois.edu/books.htm)
Seismic Hazard in Lebanon and Surrounding Areas
    Elnashai, A.S. and El Khoury , R.
    World Scientific Publishing Co., 2004.
The importance is not for the book itself, but is the name of second author El Khoury, As I remember, this was a sockpuppet name on fqxi or Sciam.

Finally if you search at the Catalogue of University of London Theses
    http://catalogue.ulrls.lon.ac.uk/search/Y?SEARCH=elnashai&searchscope=16&SORT=D
You will find the thesis of Amr Elnashai
    Elnashai, Amr Salah.
Title Nonlinear analysis of composite tubular joints / by Amr Salah Elnashai.
    PhD (Eng) 1984 IC.
    Subject: Civil and Mechanical Engineering
Is it not so strange to start publishing with the great man in 1976 and then finish the Ph.D in 1984.
It is equally strange not to find the thesis of the great man listed in the same catalogue.

Further careful investigation is still required

  9. Excellent detective work, thank you. I will investigate those leads.

    Very strange indeed!

I can't find "El Khoury" or "Khoury" in our archives.

  11. Sorry Jason
El Khoury name was on "This surfer is no Einstein"

A picture by Dutch artist M. Escher was used by Ayman El-Okaby, a professor department of physics in University of Alexandria, in conjunction with Lisi
calculate the mass of the Higgs boson. It is remarkable that such an avant
should come from what used to be considered scientifically as a backwater place University of Alexandria. No doubt this is the positive side of the internet and well as brain outsourcing. The paper is on Elsevier science direct and is titled: groups, E-Infinity theory and Higgs boson (2008).

I think the name Khory is derived from Khoury.

  12. I see. Well, to me Emad Khoury or Khory seems like a different name from El Khoury. Also there is so much impersonation going on in This surfer is no Einstein (for example Nasr Ahmed is definitely not real, and I suspect Ji-Huan He and L. Marek-Crnjac are also not real) that I am wary of identifying people through that thread.
