Ji-Huan He wrap-up email stuns IJCMNS

This is regarding journal number 9, International Journal of computational mathematics and numerical simulation (IJCMNS), on our master list. Our original email to them had no effect, but our wrap-up email has knocked them off the Internet and into a state of shock. is now a dead link. Right now, the July 28 version still exists in Bing's cache. Ji-Huan He was listed as an editor and M.S. El Naschie as an honorary editor.

Interesting parts from the cached page are shown below in green. We'll have to keep an eye on this and see what action IJCMNS takes. Will the page ever return? Will the notorious citation-scamming duo be de-listed?

  1. Wow this editorial board is a Who's Who of "mathematicians" with questionable ethics. Note that Ren and Wazwaz are as bad as He in terms of the volume of questionable material they produce, though they never associated with the Great Man.

  2. I did not know that. Can you give any examples?

  3. Actually, I confused this Ren with the Ren from "Ren and He" who wrote a paper that is the subject of a Fernandez comment. So, perhaps, this Ren is more legitimate; I am not sure now.

However, Wazwaz has produced over 200 papers (this is only the count from ScienceDirect -- so Elsevier journals) on a number of "analytical" methods that are highly questionable and often wrong as outlined by Kudryashov here: (Kudryashov also discusses mistakes by J.-H. He's "famous" methods also).

  4. Regarding, this looks very interesting judging from the abstract. Can anyone link or email the full PDF perchance?

  5. Have you noticed the e-mail address of the great man on honorary editorial list
    1.Professor, Dr. M.S. El Naschie,

I think this belongs to his wife Mervat Heddini, you can find here picture in famous El naschie photo gallery on page 9. The photo depicting the great man, Nagib Mahfouz (Nobel laureate in literature) and El naschie's wife.

Also you will find her name in comments on fqxi 395 as H. Hedini

    H. Hedini wrote on Nov. 23, 2008 @ 16:25 GMT

Yes I agree Mohamed El Naschie could produce a paper a day. That must seem to the Philistines terrifying. I know the guy since we were together in elementary school. At the beginning he was the class primus. But as his interests multiplied, he was not doing in the final year exams as good as he could. He regained his supremacy when he graduated from the University in Hannover. The guy could produce an original idea every one hour. It could be in science, art, philosophy or politics. It can be sometime unnerving for those around him. But he is simply a bundle of energy.

  6. I have long been confused about this, Zahy, because I thought his wife was a blonde named Lydia Marie Thorsen-El Naschie, a hypnotherapist in Cobham, Surrey. On the other hand the Morning Dream video shows someone who looks more like Mervat Heddini holding his hand in a wifely way.

  7. It is for sure that Mervat Heddini is El naschie's wife. It is the same person who appeared with him on the Morning Dream video shows.

It might be possible that the great man married twice one time for Lydia Marie Thorsen and the other for Mervat Heddini.

I hope you read carefully the comment on fqxi due to H. Hedini
".... I know the guy since we were together in elementary school. ... "

  8. Could Mervat Heddini be just a girlfriend or I don't know, a mistress? In the picture with Naguib Mahfouz it seems strange for him to call her "Dr. Mervat Heddini" rather than "my wife".

Lydia's facebook page, with picture of El Naschie's daughter Sonya:

Petersson and others (Petitioners) v. Pitt Place (Epsom) Limited (Respondents)—The petition of George Bror Petersson, Mohamed El Naschie and Lydia Thorsen-El Naschie praying for leave to appeal was presented and referred to an Appeal Committee (lodged 14th February).

The above link used to lead to Lydia's hypnotherapy site, but it's gone now!

  9. Does it say "wife" in the Morning Dream video?

It's Mervat in the video, not Lydia, for sure.

  10. Also, Zahy, it seems strange for "H. Hedini" to mention they were together in elementary school, but not mention they are currently married.

  11. Based on this:

Mohamed and Lydia share the same address.

  12. In this video it is mentioned that Mervat Heddinie is El naschie's wife.
At the end of this video you will find Mervat Heddini was taking about El naschie as her husband. She declared that they had children.
El naschie named their daughters Sonya and Sherin. Even he told about their job Sonya is specialized in decoration while Sherine in therapy.

It was the first time to see this video. I was shocked by it.
It contains all El naschie lies.
1- El naschie was a professor in Cambridge and who helped him in getting this position Herman Bondi.
    2- Nomination for Nobel prize.
3- El naschie got the State appreciation award
    of Egypt.
4- His theory was confirmed by experiment through Helmholtz institute. They confirmed his golden section in quantum mechanics.

The introduction made by the interviewer at the beginning of the program was almost reading the arabic article in
which you can find it in many internet sites.

El naschie mentioned Said El naschie in this interview and described him as one of the greatest scientist in chemical engineering and Amr El naschie as one of greatest scientist in earthquakes.

  13. TY so much for analysis of Morning Dream. On Facebook, look up Lydia Thorsen. She has 7 friends one of whom is Sonya Elnaschie, physiotherapist. Sonya is Lydia's daughter, surely. Sonya can't be Mervat Heddini's daughter too!

The link above is to a pic of Lydia. I had to upload it just now, because Lydia's hypnotherapy site had the only known pic of Lydia and that site is now taken down. Fortunately I had saved the picture.

I think that Sheren and Sonya are Lydia's biological daughters. Maybe Mervat calls them her daughters informally, meaning step-daughters.

There is so much untruth in the Morning Dream video, it could be that Mohamed and Mervat are pretending Lydia never existed, and the daughters are Mervat's. Hard to believe. I cannot reach a definite conclusion without understanding the Arabic video.

  14. I agree with your conclusions, Jason. And the fact that Lydia now uses her maiden name would indicate that she divorced from the Great Man.

  15. From the picture of Lydia and Sonya one can deduce that Sonya is the biological daughter of El naschie and Lydia. As Jason deduced that Mervat Heddini consider her as step-daughter.

I think El naschie is pretending that Lydia never existed, because in Egypt it is in some how not good for reputation to divorce your wife especially when she has children. El naschie would like to keep himself as an ideal man , at least in media.

It is a very hard task to translate 48 minutes interview into Arabic, I hope volunteers can help.

Another interesting thing about Sonya and Shareen El naschie, you will find the great man acknowledged them in one of his paper,%20spontaneous.pdf
you will find them in the caption of figure 2.
" A vision of the transformation of empty space
from the smooth Euclidean to the rugged Planck-
scale, after J. A. Wheeler's space– time foam
(colouring by Sonya and Shareen El Naschie). "

This paper contains many drawing and picture.
You will the great man, as usual doesn't number equations but surprisingly enough he is numbering figures.

  16. Great! I think we have figured out the situation. I wonder when the divorce took place.

A transcript of the Morning Dream video would be wonderful, provided it's in modern standard Arabic without too many typos. I could do crude translation into English using Google, Bing, etc., and ask for help as needed.

  17. For Googling etc., the daughters spell their names Shareen R. Elnaschie, Sonia N. Elnaschie.

  18. Maybe you find these links useful regarding the case of El naschie
Mohammed Elnaschie and Lydia Elnaschie -v- Pitt Place (Epsom) Limited [1998] EWCA Civ 806; (1998) 78 P&CR 44

  19. Hi Jason,
It would be better if you keep a copy of this morning dream interview. It could disappear at any moment.

On minute 00:39 of that video you find a photo for the great man when he was young with all of his family, I guess it is easy to recognize the great man, Said and Amr.

  20. Ok, good advice. I've got it saved.

  21. To follow on an earlier comment about Wazwaz, see this: doi:10.1016/j.cnsns.2010.12.024

Since this paper is related to the discussion of Elsevier scam journals (and opaquely to J.-H. He), I've uploaded the paper here (its bibliography is very educational):

CNSNS is the new C,S&F just without the fractal spacetime bullshit. Is it a coincidence that CNSNS was started in China, then bough by Elsevier, and its moniker is 2 letters away from the infamous IJNSNS?

It is discouraging to see the efforts Kudryashov has put into educating the Genghis Khan-like hordes who publish these useless and wrong works by the dozen, and yet so little change has occurred. I guess the only way to get Elsevier journals to change is to have Nature write an editorial and call Elsevier's corporate VPs for comment...
