El Naschie discussion thread resurrected

Original Arabic: تحديث الصفحة العبقري الذي لن يحصل ابداً علي نوبل : محمد النشائي or Google's English translation: Genius who will never get a Nobel Prize: Mohamed El Naschie. (Note that the discussion is two pages long. Because of a bug in Google Translate, the original and the translated version send you to different pages.)

On April 20, 2004, "Nur" posted unskeptically about El Naschie, asking people's opinions. Through September 6, 2004 the thread was active. Twenty-one polite, curious, or admiring posts about the great man accumulated, and then the thread went silent.

Six years went by.

On September 17, 2010, "Mohamed Tawfik" spoke up:

  1. El Naschie's Rosa Al-Youssef column is up for Sunday, September 19. Dictatorship useful. Original Arabic or Google's English translation.

El Naschie says Egypt's progress toward democracy is proceeding at the right pace. He notes that countries in both Eastern and Western Europe were non-democratic not that long ago.

  2. El Naschie's Rosa Al-Youssef column is up for Monday, September 20. Tips loyal to Iran. Original Arabic or Google's English translation.

El Naschie is gratified that President Ahmadinejad has been saying some of the very things El Naschie has about Iran. But El Naschie is quick to explain he doesn't think Ahmadinejad stole his ideas. Tomorrow he promises to give some advice to the Iranian regime.

  3. El Naschie's Rosa Al-Youssef column is up for Tuesday, September 21. Common myth Egypt. Original Arabic or Google's English translation.

El Naschie thinks Egypt and Iran should have better relations, and he says the lack of good relations isn't the fault of the Mubarak regime, implying the blame is with Iran.

He also attacks "any attempts to support any political movement hostile to the Egyptian state for whatever reason" which is directed against supporters of ElBaradei. The Nobel Peace Prize winner is popular, but prohibited from running for president under constitutional rules imposed by Mubarak to thwart competitors to himself and his son Gamal.

    Continued tomorrow.

  4. El Naschie's Rosa Al-Youssef column is up for Wednesday, September 22. Fear merchants. Original Arabic or Google's English translation.

El Naschie says: Egypt chooses peace as a strategic choice, and preceded every country in the region in doing so. Unlike warlike Israel. Egypt and Iran could cooperate to defeat Israel without firing a single shot, he says. If that happens everyone will thank Egypt, even the Jews. Ahmadinejad should not use antisemitic rhetoric, because Jews contribute to humanity's legacy as much as Arabs or Iranians. The Arabic and Hebrew languages are related; likewise Iranian, Hindi and German are related to each other. Continued tomorrow.
