Will El Naschie need a new boot to kiss?

The Mubarak regime looks like it may be falling.

Unfortunately El Naschie doesn't post his Rosa Al-Youssef column on Saturdays.

  1. The Jerusalem Post attributes to Al-Jazeera a report that Ayman Nour, head of the El-Ghad party (of which Mohamed's brother Said Elnashaie is a high-ranking member), was injured when a rock hit him in the head.

  2. Just now Mubarak gave a televised speech, finally. He's not stepping down. He's going to fire the cabinet and form a new government tomorrow. This will not satisfy the protesters.

  4. Egyptian Chronicles is still not being updated, nor is Rosa Al-Youssef. Normally I would expect El Naschie's Sunday column to appear at exactly noon Saturday Seattle time, four hours from now, but that seems unlikely.

  6. Al Jazeera English live stream

Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah is quoted as saying “Egypt is a country of Arabism and Islam. No Arab and Muslim can bear that some infiltrators into the brotherly Egyptian people are attempting to destabilize that country’s security and stability in the name of freedom of expression, and they have been exploiting the public and spawning hatred and driving them to engage in destruction, arson, looting — terrorizing them and inciting sedition.''

NDP headquarters is a burned-out husk, still smouldering.

Mohamed ElBaradei is in Egypt giving speeches calling for Mubarak to step down. He is speaking at this very moment.

  7. As expected, El Naschie's Rosa Al-Youssef column for Sunday has failed to appear. It's now two hours late, and they are always very punctual.

Mohamed, we will be happy to host your Sunday column on El Naschie Watch. Attach it in an email. We want to help you get the word out during these tumultuous times. We will post the original Arabic and an English translation.

  8. A Reuters report mentions that Children's Cancer Hospital (Hospital 57357, Egypt) has been stormed by looters. El Naschie chose Hospital 57357 to administer the "El Naschie Award" for cancer research in April of last year.
