Whatever you do, don't mention El Naschie Watch

Blogger Giuseppe De Nicolao talks about Arnold and Fowler's Nefarious Numbers, Mohamed El Naschie and Ji-Huan He's citation scam, the Alexandria University ranking scandal, and so on. He writes with attention to detail including graphics and lots of links. Original Italian or Google's English translation. (Google Translate turns "El Naschie" into "El Born".)

By the way, Giuseppe, you linked to Ji-Huan He's defunct IJNSNS site. De Gruyter took over the journal, fired Ji-Huan He, and put up a new IJNSNS site. Also, you have his affiliation not quite right. His old university was Donghua and his new one is Soochow.

Shrink points to this, which I have re-hosted on Scribd:

  1. The Italian daily newspaper "Il manifesto" has published De Nicolao's piece:

I numeri tossici che minacciano la scienza

  5. On the same page of the (printed) newspaper there's an interesting article by Roberto Ciccarelli titled "L’aura perduta degli atenei (The lost aura of the universities)" dealing with problems of Italian and western universities:
