Dog ate homework excuse rejected

The One Brick Court website has this brief news item:

El Naschie v MacMillan Publishers Ltd & anr

11/11/2011

The trial of El Naschie v MacMillan Publishers Ltd & anr, a libel claim, began today after Mrs Justice Sharp refused the Claimant's application for a further adjournment. The claim concerns an article published in Nature magazine in November 2008. The Defendants are advancing defences of justification, fair comment and Reynolds privilege. The Claimant is unrepresented. Andrew Caldecott QC and Aidan Eardley, instructed by Taylor Wessing LLP, act for the Defendants.

Court is in session even as I write this, and doubtless El Naschie is explaining that the dog ate his homework.

We were right again!
