Video! El Naschie ON TV interview

This is a fine quality video of length 34:46 uploaded today by ON TV's YouTube channel. It's in Arabic without subtitles. ON TV describes itself as having the "objective to spread liberalism and revive the Egyptian identity that was in Egypt before the 1952 revolution". Here's the description of the video:

And here's Google's translation of it, unfortunately full of nonsense words, but you can get the gist:

Dialogue with Dr. Mohamed El Naschie candidate for the presidency

Race to run for the presidency disease intensifies in light of the countdown to open the door for nominations for the election of the President of Egypt after the revolution who supposed Hikon in the tenth of March next year [the nomination deadline] according to the announcement of the committee supervising the elections ... so Delloukty talk about the candidates on the basis they have potential ... but Chov potential candidate successor and military potential candidate background of a political but a potential candidate background science that was a new to us, clear Hikon Lena [name of the interviewer, I guess] to meet with one of the minds of Egypt distinctive who recently announced his intention to run for the presidency, becoming the first Egyptian scientist candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, our meeting Hikon with Dr. Mohamed El Naschie scientist of nanotechnology, and who is said to be the third mind after Newton and Einstein [o_O], downright mind Egyptian outstanding de Hikon why a different view to considering run for the presidency of Egypt in a difficult time de Hntekm Maah Delloukty and Henhaol are searching in the folds of his mind and Henaraf is equipped with aT to Egypt, the same works aT the Egyptians

- Dr. Mohamed El Naschie scientist of nanotechnology, and a likely candidate for the presidency

You'll hear the great man talking about Einstein and Heisenberg, and saying something no doubt unpleasant about Nobel Prize winning chemist Ahmed Zewail. El Naschie is jealous of Zewail's stature as a real scientist, and his planned Zewail City for Science and Technology.

There are three viewer comments at the moment, one of them apparently pleased that El Naschie promises to appoint a younger person as his vice president. I'm not sure whether the other comments are positive... I don't think they are... but the video has already gathered five likes and seven dislikes, an extremely poor rating as YouTube videos go.

  1. In Elbadil, El Naschie's brother Said Elnashaie writes about presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabahi and about the Camp David Accords. Of course we would have preferred him to talk about his brother's candidacy, oh well. Original Arabic or google's English translation. Neither Hamdeen Sabahi nor Said Elnashaie is fond of the West, not one bit.

  2. In Vision News El Naschie is quoted briefly criticizing the notion of a "concensus president". Such a person would wear a beard during the day and sit with the Salafsists, and shave it at night to sit with the Liberals, he says. Original Arabic or Google's English translation.

  3. In secrets7days, El Naschie dismisses Ahmed Zewail as "Obama's envoy in Egypt" and says the Zewail City for Science and Technology is doomed to abject failure. And he says it's unfortunate the Mubarak regime didn't have a peaceful nuclear program, because Egypt could be making billions exporting nuclear reactors to other countries. He also says some want a weakling president, but he wants a strong one with the support of the SCAF. Original Arabic or Google's English translation.
