Rössler disappointed with Cologne court ruling

El Naschie Watch reader PassingByAgain writes

An embarrassing development for Mad Otto: the ruling of the Administrative Court of Cologne from January 2011 is now public:

http://www.justiz.nrw.de/nrwe/ovgs/vg_koeln/j2011/13_K_5693_08urteil20110127.html

and of course there is no trace of the Court's demand for a safety conference that Otto has been blathering about for the last year. Otto writes that he's "disappointed", and blames CERN for the cover-up.

Here's Google's English translation of the Court's decision.

Otto has indeed been claiming repeatedly that the Court demands a safety conference, for example in Can Anyone Explain Why CERN Fears Nothing more than a Scientific Safety Conference? and Friendship Lies at the Root of Science: Dear CERN, Please, Admit the Safety Conference.

PassingByAgain pointed out the Court's decision and Otto expressed his disappointment with it, in How come All World Media are United in Covering-up the CERN-induced Armageddon Risk? Poor Otto! PassingByAgain dishes out sarcastic scorn without mercy.

Yes Otto, how disappointing! The ruling of the Administrative Court of Cologne is now public, and of course it does not correspond at all to the one you had in your head. It must be all a CERN cover-up!... Otto, if you have a shred of decency left in yourself, you will now stop repeating your absurd claim about the Administrative Court of Cologne. Come to think of it, you should also write again to Mandela, Obama, Netanyahu, Ahmadinejad, the Pope, the King, Quadafi and Saddam and retract your earlier messages...

To be fair to Otto we should note this 28 February 2011 article on thepeoplesvoice.org titled German Court Calls for Collider Safety Conference, where a judge in Cologne, Hans-Martin Niemeier, is quoted as saying

The Court has expressed its opinion that it should be possible to discuss the various safety aspects that have been the subject of the two safety reports from 2003 and 2008, within the framework of a safety conference.

Rössler attached too much importance to it, but it was not entirely a figment of his imagination.

  1. Hi Jason,

BY WHOM is the judge quoted? The "article" you link above looks more like a blog post written by a friend of Rossler's (indeed, the signature is "LHC Safety Review").

  2. Good question! I should be more skeptical. But if it's not true, it's a shocking lie. It is presented as a direct quote.

  3. A lie in a blog? Big shocker!!! ;-)

  4. Hmmm. ArticlesBase has the same article, and also identifies the blogger: "LHC Safety Review - About the Author: Olaf Möhring is a lawyer with Gilliand & Collegen Rechtsanwälte." He is a real person.

    ReplyDelete
  5. According to the article itself, Olaf Möhring is the plaintiff's attorney, thus he has every interest in presenting the declarations of the judge in a way that sounds sympathetic to his client. A little selective quotation goes a long way: "it should be possible to discuss" does not mean that the Court demands that discussion. In (the automatic translation of) the written ruling, the judges only mention that *the plaintiffs* request a safety conference, and they seem to argue that the opportunity of such a conference must be decided by the defendant (CERN). I guess that this is what disappointed poor Otto. Anyway, as I wrote on lifeboat, it would be great if a German-speaking reader could provide a decent translation at least of paragraph #88.

Tom Kerwick outed himself as the webmaster behind lifeboat who allows otto to post and deletes commenters who are critical of otto...

So it seems, otto will stay for longer there...

In fact I had already found that and downloaded it for safe keeping. It's a terrible thesis. It's not original research. It looks like he Googled some stuff. The awarding institution, http://www.corllinsuniversity.com/, is a diploma mill.

  10. The PhD thesis does not name an adviser or any committee members. o_O

  11. Interesting to find this nerd corner here - Jason I have not been blocking you, if you are blocked and want to comment I can fix that up for you - email me. About the dissertation - it may be on the subject area but it is not and does not attempt to be a PhD in physics. Corrlins pitched it as Engineering Technology, as it is my background, and as they do not have a school of physics, but to be honest with you I would sooner cite it as a 'social studies'. My weight is more with my masters of Engineering at UL. I must come back and visit this haunt. Blogs about blogs is quite an odd facet of internet culture.

  12. Thank you, Tom. By all means, unblock me. Thank you. I will email you.

  13. You're wrong, Tom: this blog isn't about other blogs.

It's about El Naschie and his collaborators/followers. And - as happens to be the case - Otto is one of El Naschie's close collaborators who posts his texts on a blog of which you're the admin, apparently. So, it shouldn't be a big surprise that your name came to the attention of El Naschie Watch blog.

As the supposed haunt is concerned, please, do not repeat the hallucinations of your friend Otto as we already know everything about them:

Prof. Otto E. Rössler responds to El Naschie Watch

  14. Shrink, I sent Tom an email explaining the focus of this blog exactly as you did above. He suggested I try posting again to Lifeboat. I did, immediately, but I got same the automatic rejection as always. As of this moment I seem still to be blocked.

  15. Tom has now put me on the whitelist. My test post has appeared.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Jason, your welcome - two more posts from Otto for you to comment on. Shrink - point taken. For the record, I'm just one of several admins - and only in the last few months. As for the viewpoints of Otto, I do not typically endorse these - I merely suggest he gets a scientific response as his papers, which are very damning of CERN, are in the public domain.

  17. Tom, I hope you don't get in trouble for whitelisting me.

  18. Quoted for truth. Im aware Tom Kerwick will cancel this post on lifeboat.com:

    Cheers, William Kilgore

"I also have strove to get my recent short paper on hypothetical MBH flux reviewed on arXiv"

Tom, you were not very successful this way. Right? So you put your paper to Philip Gibbs' viXra.org
    http://vixra.org/abs/1203.0055

(as you told us some couple of days before: http://lifeboat.com/blog/2012/03/sub-keplerian-mbh-planetary-heating-or-planetary-accretion )

Well, you might be proud of being a menber of these bad guys who promote the "The Anti-Crackpot Index" ( http://blog.vixra.org/2010/09/13/the-anti-crackpot-index/ ) and, you will realize that good guys like John Baez or us are certainly amused on this baxkreaction ;-)

More: You got your "PhD" from a "diploma mill" called Corrlins University. Your "PhD Thesis" is a joke, worthless and irrelevant, something, that is called a "Mickey Mouse degree". How many bucks did you pay to Corrlins? More than the $500 Otto spent for publishing his crackpot thesis in this african journal? It's significant you "published" your "Mickey Mouse PhD thesis" in the network of Otto, hosted by Artur P. Schmidt.

Tom, you are an imposter, your PhD a cheeky fraud. It's time to resign from your function as a lifeboat webmaster. And it's time you confess that you betrayed your family, your friends, your employer, when you told them you earned a PhD. Shame on you!

You may cancel this comment. But it is quoted for truth on elnaschiewatch: http://elnaschiewatch.blogspot.com/2012/03/rossler-disappointed-with-cologne-court.html

  19. Jason - I don't see how this should be trouble, Lifeboat are always looking for new contributors to topics. Bill - yes did not get an endorser or arXiv for that paper after trying for a week or so - so shared it on viXra as it is a free service, just as Lifeboat is - where I make no claims about it being properly reviewed - I just put it out there. The point I was making that you missed is that I wanted to get it onto arXiv as I respect the peer review process - and the thesis you refer to is actually about peer review. As for Corrlins adminsitrive service, I have been interested in the debate for a number of years and wanted to conclude to an opinion - largely for personal reasons - a view which in sections was endorsed by the LSAG. I make no claims as to the credibility of that institution, and stand academically on my other qualifications. Please refrain from personal attacks.

  21. William - I don't know about 'bad guys' and 'good guys' though if you read that paper on viXra it's hardly that crackpot - just perhaps too many enigneering approximations for a scientist to take time to. It's a hobbyist PhD - I hever claimed more to anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Tom, you may blandish yourself that way. It's no doubt, your PhD thesis is completely worthless and, you just can tell us, how may bucks you paid to the diploma mill called Corrlins University. You tried, but lost the game! "hobbyist"? Ridiculous! You seem very proud presenting your "PhD" on your lifeboat bios.

viXra is a crackpot resource. No real scientist would upload any paper to Philip Gibbs. You did. So, no one will be surprised. Neither your "PhD thesis" nor your "white papers" will ever stand a scientific review. No wonder considering you are a crackpot and partisan of HAARP conspiracy theories.

Tom, beneath contempt you are a poor guy. Take a long walk on a short pier!

    ReplyDelete
  23. William - I didn't loose any game. If you read the conclusion of my dissertation you will note I argued safety and due dilligence, not risk. About the HAARP thing - you are confusing having an interest in big technology as conspiracy theorist - my position on HAARP is similar to that of the EU. Why all the angst? Is this all just because I am friendly to Otto Rossler?

    ReplyDelete
  24. What is your position on HAARP?

Tom, FYI. The cancelled contributions of Otto were saved before. If neccessary they can be quoted for truth. You say, some of the comments by Roessler are “far below the standards Lifeboat aspires to”. Lifeboat samples some similar posts. Furthermore, a web admin, who paid for his PhD to a diploma mill represents in no credible manner the claimed “standards Lifeboat aspires to”. It’s time for you to resign from your function.

    Cheers, Kilgore

  29. lets reproduce the deleted material here on el naschie watch. every person on the planet should have the right to see the true otto rössler. I personally found the line where otto attacked the poster TMRG as monster the most interesting one of ottos posts.

  31. Tom Kerwick, the scientific imposter who bought his PhD from a diploma mill should have the chance to restore the deleted comments of Roessler. His run to cancel this seven entries is ridiculous, because he is a real franchised dealer from Otto and friends. It's astonishing, Tom risks betraying his partners to save his own skin. This infamous coward!

We will publish the cancelled comments on Wednesday. This is the timeline for Kerwick to resign.

  34. man Tom, I am from Tübingen and have seen Otto's comparisons of the University of Tübingen with nazis years ago (Otto gave out sheets describing the university as murderer university and pogrom university, while he was wearing a yellow badge). I also have read Ottos letters to the editor in the local newspaper Schwäbisches Tagblatt. And I can tell you that they were of a similar writing style and content as are his postings on lifeboat. I also can tell you that he wrote them for some ten years. One letter at least every week.

As I do not live there anymore, I do not know if they have banned otto now.

However, I can say that Otto will continue his content empty and obscene postings until he is either death or someone bans him.

So, Tom do yourself and lifeboat a favor and ban Otto. He does not have a valid scientific or any other other reasonable argument.

However, what he is up to is a private campain against scientists who refused to accept dozens of his crackpot papers on relativity into their journals.

Similarly, he campaingns against the university of Tübingen for not supporting him during his problems with the government that confiscated his house.

I also know a chemist who, for some days sat in a lecture of him. The chemist was surprised that rössler used a special technique on the blackboard to confuse everyone. Otto, he says, did never clean the blackboard during his lecture. Instead, Otto just wrote over his old writings. This ensured, that no student could follow his equations, since they could not read what Otto had written. An interesting technique to cover the fact that most of Otto's equations were wrong.

The former host of Ottos writings was an artist who hostet him on his private homepage: http://elnaschiewatch.blogspot.de/2011/02/otto-rossler-and-achtphasen-d-i-v-o-r-c.html

However, after some time, even this artist (who had no knowledge in physics before ) found that rösslers "papers" where all wrong. The artist refuses to publish rössler now, and calls him publicly a conman and imposter.

So, you should really ban Otto. He is not doing anything good for lifeboat.

Earth is under serious threads from asteroids, climate change, environmental pollution, man made diseases, but not particle accelerators.

  35. Tom, this last comment of Roessler is saved too. It's not necessary to cancel his insane dropouts while allowing him to be a member of lifeboat foundation. We know, you aren't the decisive authority to clear this question. But someone is responsible, Otto could join the team of lifeboat.

We won't discuss your qualification to assess crackpot stuff, because you're not only a crackpot yourself and a friend of other partisans of LHC-anti-rationalism like lifeboat contributor Markus Goritschnig, James Blodgett and so on. Furthermore you're someone who gained his PhD by trickery. So, you entirely lost the reputation to speak in this case.

Perhaps there are others who can. Perhaps your assistant "riskalert", another lifeboat webadmin in his own words, triggered the membership of Roessler. Or, did Eric Klien himself took the decision to invite crackpot Otto to take a part on your slumbering rally against real science?

It's to late to deep-six Otto. Cling together, swing together!

  37. Hi Jason,

Have you ever considered to add a search engine to that blog? I think of a text field and a button. Typing e.g. "Otto Rössler" in that text field and pressing the button should then yield a list of links to all your posts on El Naschie Watch where "Otto Rössler" appears in the text or the comments...
